Description
This course covers the core concepts of physical chemistry, and is the second semester in a two semester sequence. The lecture covers quantum mechanics, statistical thermodynamics, and molecular symmetry of compounds, mixtures, and reactions. The laboratory covers common physical chemistry lab techniques and methods of analysis. Upon completion of this course students will be able to analyze and characterize the quantum mechanical, statistical thermodynamics, and molecular symmetry properties of compounds, mixtures, and reactions. Prerequisite: CHM 471 with a grade of C or better.
