Description

This course introduces the base on which digital 3D animation and spatial graphics are founded and developed. Students will be able to navigate 3D software, apply terminology and methodology, use tools in modeling objects in 3D using a variety of techniques, integrate lights and materials to 3D objects and animate 3D scenes of objects using keyframe and timeline controls into short animation sequences. Emphasis will be placed on developing a working knowledge of the underlying process of 3D modeling and animation including: the mechanics of 3D geometry, lighting, cameras, shaders, material types and rendering methods, animation principles, and key frame animation. Students will design and produce portfolio quality projects of 3D images and short animations.
