Description
This course reinforces the intelligent and creative practice of working with type. Emphasis is placed on principles of typographic structure, composition, and hierarchy. Students will validate the terminology and history of type, apply design concepts and color theory to solve typographical problems, and analyze typographic relationships, including the integration of images, symbolic communication, and digital design. Projects will range from corporate identity and typeface creation to publication design, all aimed at producing portfolio-quality work. Prerequisite: DART 201.
