Description
This capstone clinical experience provides students the opportunity to synthesize professional nursing competencies of clinical judgment, communication, person-centered care, evidence-based practice, teamwork and collaboration, quality improvement, and informatics necessary to provide quality health care. Building on professional nursing competencies learned in previous nursing courses, the student will focus on the roles and responsibilities of the professional nurse, including utilization of the nursing process. Clinical experiences are precepted by practicing professional nurses and occur in a) rural hospitals, b) simulated, and c) various medical-surgical, and specialty inpatient settings. Prerequisites: NRS 303, NRS 305/305P, NRS 307/307P, NRS 308/308P, NRS 309/309P, NRS 310, NRS 311, NRS 403/403P, NRS 415/415P. Co-requisites: None
