Description

PA 613 Clinical Assessment I is the first of two courses designed to instruct students in comprehensive history taking and physical exam assessments, along with proper documentation of these components in the medical record. Students are introduced to the sequential process and skills involved in history taking and physical examination techniques, while integrating concepts of effective communication and basic knowledge of human anatomy and physiology. The course emphasizes the ???normal??? physical exam assessment, while also introducing students to assessment techniques for the most common abnormal physical exam findings. At the end of this course, the student will be able to perform a partial history and physical exam covering roughly half the organ systems. Prerequisites: none.
