Description
In the seminar, students will: demonstrate psychology information literacy; interpret, design, and conduct a basic psychological literature review; present social cultural factors in their scientific inquiry; and, apply ethical standards to evaluate psychological science. Topics covered in the seminar include but are not limited to: service and helping people in need, while addressing social problems; social justice and the challenges of social injustice; dignity and worth of the person in need; importance of human relationships; integrity and acts in a trustworthy manner; and, competence, practices within established areas of the field and professional expertise. Upon successful completion of the seminar, students will explore one specific topic of their choice, conduct a literature review, organize a literature review paper, and present during the annual Apex poster session. Prerequisites: Completion of PSY 333 and PSY 351 with a grade of ‘C’ or better, with at least 18 credit hours
