Description

This course introduces students to some of the key issues we face at the beginning of the 21st century. Participants in the course are challenged to think ethically about themselves, their relationships, and human society through reading, reflection, immersion, and analysis. They are challenged to apply what they learn to current events. By the end of this course, students will explain some of the most pressing ethical puzzles in our lives and demonstrate their ability to think critically and creatively about them through writing and discussion. Students will be required to participate in an overnight homelessness simulation, or some other immersion experience, as part of their learning experience.
