Description

This course introduces the historical, literary, and cultural background and theological content of the Old Testament in light of the Reformed tradition.
Student will gain knowledge of the Old Testament as understood by the Reformed tradition. By the end of the course, students will be able to:
1) Outline the story of the Old Testament and identify major genres, characters, and key passages.
2) Identify and articulate key theological themes in the Old Testament especially as interpreted in the Reformed tradition.
3) Analyze key passages in the Old Testament and explain how they function in the canon and within the Reformed tradition.
