Description

This course introduces students to the people, ideas, practices, institutions, and events that have shaped United States history since the end of the Civil War. Topics considered will include im/migration, industrialization, the emergence of the U.S. as a world power, the Cold War, and issues of race, gender, class, and related social movements. Students will be able to make connections between the realities of the present and the past.
