Description
This course focuses on the history of exclusion and efforts toward inclusion in North American sports. With attention to significant historical developments (like civil and women’s rights), we will consider how sports have shaped and been shaped by issues of race and gender. By the end of this course students will be able to identify people and events that have helped level the playing fields and explain why this matters.
