Description
This course prepares students to be effective instrumental teachers for grades 5-12. Topics will include the principles, techniques, literature, tools, methods and materials used in teaching band and orchestral music. Upon completion of this course, students will be able to select appropriate literature, plan and executive effective lessons and performances, and accurately assess the progress of instrumental students. Prerequisites: MUSC 302 Basic Conducting, EDU 351 Secondary School Methods, and concurrent enrollment in an instrumental ensemble; or permission of the department head.
