Description

This course provides a comprehensive study of the principles, systems, and procedures required for safe and effective instrument flight operations under instrument flight rules (IFR). Topics include the theory and operation of flight and navigation instruments; instrument approach and landing systems; airway and airspace systems; aircraft control and autopilot systems; aviation communications; and instrument navigation and approach procedures in accordance with current FAA standards. Upon successful completion of the course, students will possess the knowledge required to successfully complete the FAA Instrument Rating knowledge (written) examination. Prerequisite: AVI 131. Corequisite: AVI 214 and FLI 112.
