Description
This course covers the core concepts of biochemistry, and is the first semester in a two semester sequence. The lecture covers the chemical and physical properties of carbohydrates, lipids, proteins, and nucleic acids. The laboratory covers common biochemical lab techniques and methods of analysis. Upon completion of this course students will be able to analyze and characterize biochemical compounds. Prerequisite: CHM 222 with a grade of C or better.
