Description

This course provides students the tools to think critically about the media and the many ways it impacts society and culture. Students in this course develop an understanding of the technological developments that have spurred the growth of mass communication throughout human history and the dizzying number that now define everyday life. Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to apply conceptual knowledge of media history to their own experiences with media and synthesize their own unique perspectives of the impact of mass media. Prerequisite: COM101
