Description

This course provides advanced flight training focused on the planning and execution of cross-country operations in preparation for the Private Pilot practical test. Instruction emphasizes aeronautical decision-making, navigation using pilotage, dead reckoning, and electronic navigation systems, flight planning and performance calculations, weather analysis, fuel management, and risk assessment. Students conduct solo and dual cross-country flights to towered and non-towered airports while complying with applicable Federal Aviation Regulations and airspace requirements. Upon successful completion, students will demonstrate the ability to plan and conduct safe and efficient cross-country flights, manage in-flight contingencies, communicate effectively with air traffic control, and exercise sound judgment consistent with private pilot privileges and limitations. Prerequisite: FLI 110
