Description
This course builds on fundamental instrument skills by focusing on the en route phase of IFR flight and introducing instrument cross-country operations. Instruction emphasizes flight planning under IFR, navigation using en route charts, airway procedures, holding patterns, and instrument approaches, along with clearances, alternate planning, and weather considerations. Training ensures proficiency and adherence to Airman Certification Standards in preparation for the instrument rating practical test. Upon successful completion, students will demonstrate the ability to plan and execute IFR crosscountry flights, manage en route navigation and communications, and perform all required procedures to certification standards. Prerequisite: FLI 210. Corequisite: AVI 231.
