Description
A course designed to prepare students to critically read and evaluate both quantitative and qualitative nursing research, and to implement the results of research into practice. The historical, legal, and ethical aspects of nursing research are considered, as are barriers to implementation of evidence-based practice. This course also focuses on the evaluation and utilization of research and other sources of knowledge necessary to address patient needs and provide quality care. The end goal is for students to be able to locate and appraise evidence from a variety of sources for use in clinical practice to improve patient health outcomes. Prerequisites: NRS 303, NRS 305/305P, NRS 307/307P, NRS 308/308P, NRS 309/309P, NRS 310, NRS 311, NRS 403/403P, NRS 415/415P. Co-requisites: None
