Description

This course introduces philosophy by focusing on philosophical questions illustrated in recent films. Issues and views discussed include questions of ethics (What is right and good?), metaphysics (What is real?), and epistemology (How do we know?). By the end of the course, students will recognize philosophical issues raised by movies and apply basic skills in analyzing and evaluating arguments related to these issues. They will be able to apply these critical thinking skills to their personal, social and professional lives. No prerequisites.
