Description
This course introduces the purpose, sanctions, values, knowledge, and methods used in the field of Social Services. Students will learn how human service workers aim to discover truths about individuals, communities, and society and about the importance of describing and explaining social behaviors, their meanings and ways to curb human suffering. Upon completion of this course, students will describe a strengths based, problem solving approach in working with individuals, families and groups that are having problems living and functioning in today???s society. They will link such persons to organizations and agencies that promote change. No prerequisites
